    Hypocrisy alert

I have just two questions for Elliot.

    1. When will Spitzer resign?

    2. Did she spitzer swallow?

Gina said the same thing I was thinking ... how can his wife stand there like that, next to him? Isn't that about the most harrowing thing a spouse can face -- standing at a podium next to your spouse, who got caught in a prostitution ring, like the prostitution rings he used to break up?

Governor Spitzer pledged his support a superdelegate to Clinton. So, is Clinton going to distance herself from him? Also, when he resigns, he will no longer be a superdelegate to the convention.

Then again, HRC has been able to look past that cheating spouse thing before. So if she distances herself from Spitzer, doesn't that make her a hypocrite too?

I think the real issue with this dude is that what he did was against the law. As the holder of the highest office in NY and sworn to uphold the laws, that issue goes beyond his cheating.

That's a good point. None of Bill Clinton's indiscretions were with prostitutes. Prostitution is illegal. Cheating on your spouse is not.

for a special twist, he should have invited the call girl to stand next to him.

silda spitzer didn't raise her eyes to the camera in the press conference.

i just don't know how you stand there while your husband admits (and doesn't admit) to paying thousands of dollars for sexual favors

Here is the thing. If he would have done this in NY state, he never would have been prosecuted. They very rarely EVER prosecute the "john". However, here, this was in violation of a Federal Law. He participated in transporting prostitutes over state lines. Kind of a crap law.

Really, if someone can get $5k to have sex, sounds like they are doing something right! What's the big deal?

audient and i also talked about the kind of sex that would be worth $5K

For 5 grand there has to be more than sex. Maybe she did his taxes and killed a high school rival too.
Either way she was not discreet and should have to make a full repayment of funds. I think he should sue the lady for breach of contract.
As far as the wife goes, who's to say she wasn't into it with him? MAybe they have an open and freaking thing going on and that's why he paid so much.
