    Sycophant Savior

There is a new magazine cover with General Patraeus and the a label calling him "Sycophant Savior."

The article calls him "a political general of the worst kind," and that "he has broken faith with the soldiers he commands and the Army to which he has devoted his life. He has failed his country."

Should Rudy run an ad?  Should Bush call a press conference?  Should the senate take a vote to condemn this magazine cover now, too?

Would your answer be any different if the title of the magazine was "The American Conservative"?

my opinion - the bluster about the moveon ad was just another cover used by these incompetent fucks to hide the lives lost every day, no prospects for troop withdrawl, surge not working, no iraqi govt in place.

i love that american conservative echoed the ad, thereby turning the debate on its' ear.

this is the same strategy used by the "harmful to minors" folks. if you don't have an answer, if the yes man has been called out as a yes man, then say that criticism is anti soldier, anti military, fuel for the enemy, anti American.

interesting how the rhetorical strategy (can't believe i wrote that) is the same.

interesting that the strategy involves the same vague terms. what is harmful to minors? what is anti-American? what is anti military?

these phrases have emotional impact but what do they mean?
