Email I Sent to Sherrod Brown Today

I voted for Mike DeWine 6 years ago, and was leaning against returning him because we need more senators who will stand up to this out-of-control president.  But when you voted in the House yesterday for that abominable bill that suspends habeas corpus, I question whether you are the right man for the job.  We don't need Mike DeWine Lite.

Aw, crap. He really did that?

I didn't notice till Jason brought it up.

How did Dewine vote on the torture approval that passed the Senate this week?

That's part of my point -- they both voted for it. Brown voted for it in the House, and DeWine in the Senate.

They have both betrayed the constitution and voted in favor of tyranny. Here I am calling DeWine's office yesterday like a fool, and here Brown had already voted for it in the House. The Republicans have long lost any conservative values when it comes to limiting the powers of government, and the Democrats are just as unprincipled and a bunch of pussies to boot.

I'm going to say it again, with feeling, because that is how dismayed I am. For all the talk that Sherrod Brown is supposed to be some old school unreconstructed liberal, that is obviously all BS, because what kind of a man, liberal or conservative, would vote for this thing for any reason other than political expedieny, or an outright distain and distaste for constitutional government? I can't think of any reason, but I'll tell you this -- it is too bad there is no libertarian candidate for senate this year, because no one who voted for these bills yesterday has any business representing the people of Ohio in either house of the US Congress.

Thanks for the credit, but its a bit disappointing that there's been so little coverage of his vote in the local media that my blog was actually your source. I know some local blogs, such as Buckeye State Blog, Word of Mouth, and Plunderbund, covered it, but the 91% of Ohioans who don't read blogs have no clue as to how Rep. Brown voted on this

Most Americans are unaware of the WHOLE IMPACT of the illegal legislation, let alone how people voted. ARGH!!!!
