![]() Some things do change. Sometimes change is better, sometimes change is just different. For instance, my sister Kat when to Taft Elementary School. I am not sure which Taft it was named for, but let us assume it was William Howard. Taft as Kat knew it is gone. New Taft sits in its place. Only one remnant of old Taft remains... ![]() The stone "TAFT" from the original fascade of old Taft -- was removed and refabricated into this sign on the Avondale Avenue entrance. In a small way, this new school is an oasis in a wasteland of decaying homes. Not everything old is worth saving. Old Taft is gone.
