Today is MJ's Birthday
I know that MJ hasn't been reading my blog lately, so perhaps I can spill the beans here without her knowing... MJ if you actually are reading this on your birthday, and we haven't had dinner yet STOP RIGHT HERE AND DO NOT READ FURTHER!!! La la la... Today I told her to meet me at my office at 6pm. When she gets here, I'll be taking her to a certain Westside restaurant on the Gold Coast that has recently been remodelled. I have reserved a special table, with a view. I have picked up a certain piece of jewelry that I know she's had her eye on for some time. No, it is not a ring. IMHO, that is not for birthdays or holiday gift giving. It is something from the Tiffany & Co. catalog though -- I know she'll like it. I dressed up today for work even though I wasn't meeting with anyone special -- except her. Ah, to be the big 2-8. Happy Birthday, hon. |

post a commentawe....that is wonderful! Happy Birthday Marquise!
What a romantic you are. Tiffany's is always a winner!
I don't wear the "romantic" label very well. But thanks. There is more I should have done.
That's sweet. Wasn't Pier W where I took you (your suggestion :-)?? Good choice, if it was (and maybe even if wasn't), and Marquise sounded tres happy when we spoke. Bree is right, you cannot go wrong with Tiffany's!
Yes, now that you mention it -- years ago we did go to Pier W. The recently remodeled/renovated. The windows over the lake are even larger. It has kind of that "classic modern" feel -- by that I mean the modern style from decades ago, the kind of decor and styling you'd expect at the CN Tower or the United Nations -- but fresher than that.
Everything about it was lovely. Almost. After we finished the first bottle of wine, we went for a half-bottle to get us through the entrees, and the one I chose was unremarkable. If I could do that over, I'd have ordered two glasses of something else.
And she loved her necklace.
Man, I wish I could get special table at IHOP. You're a hell of a guy!
I have yet to go to Pier W even though its on my side of town. I will have to "mention it in passing" to the sig. other and see what happens.
The special table at Pier W and a Tiffany's necklace! You are a romantic
Actually, the "special table" fell through. I was reminded that they don't promise window seating, and sure enough, the window tables were full. Still, that was my only complaint of the evening. I made sure MJ took the seat with the better view of the water and the city, and it was exquisite from there. They had four kinds of oysters on the half shell to choose from. The tuna and salmon tartare was quite good. The halibut tacos were outstanding. I was going to get the boullibaise, but the server talked me into the hibachi tuna, which was served medium rare with a mango salsa on two kinds of rice with a balsamic soy reduction -- and it was perfect. We were much too full for dessert, and just had coffee.
You are such a sap - I had no idea!
When I was reading, I was really thinking that you had a "ring" and were going to propose - 'bout damn time, if you ask me. But then again no one asks me.
Maybe Hil will ask you.
She already has and I had to turn her on. I dont think that it is appropriate that I am carrying on a long distance relationship with Hil while I am secretly in love with Kristen.
