    little mysteries

    Last weekend, my dad came over and helped me fix the toilet.  By help, I mean he did 98% of it while I watched and learned.  It wasn't flushing right.  That is, it would flush but only if you held the handle down.  Well, nobody wants that. 
     
    Now the toilet flushes fine, but the water pressure has dropped in the shower.  What gives?  The pressure was just fine till the day we fixed the toilet.  I played with the water service to the toilet, turned it down to see if that would change the water pressure to the shower, but it had no effect.  So maybe its completely unrelated.  But then, what is causing it?

    if your plumbing is original, it may be some build-up in the supply that coincidently let go and is blocking the flow to the shower head. You know the rule, things happen in three, so next it will be the blender turning on when you send an e-mail. Good luck with that one!

    I think it is probably that one of your neighbors is a wizarding family and they have an unruly child (likely a Slytherin) who is messing with your plumbing. Write a letter to the Minister of Magic and he will send the appropriate authorities to investigate and take care of it. Be forewarned, you will probably have your memory modified and may not remember this issue at all when people bring up to you in the future.

    I'm not sure what's causing this, but there's one other water-related thing I meant to tell you when you moved in. You probably have a water meter in your basement and a remote register on the exterior of your house. It would be a good idea to check and make sure that both of them are reading the same. The water division should have done this when the previous owner moved out, but sometimes they don't check the basement meter.

    By the way, did you notice that you're on Harriet Miers' blog roll?
